Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Try this scrumptious slow cooker recipe tonight. It’s sure to please your crowd! The honey adds a sweet flavor which is off-set by the sriracha ( if you don’t like spice, leave it out) I made this recipe using chicken breasts ( which shred when cooked), you can also make it using chicken thighs. The bone-in will make it fall-off the bone delicious for tonight’s meal.

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 4-5 hours on low or 2-3 hours on high in the slow cooker (plus about 5-7 minutes if thickening the sauce in a saucepan)

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Bragg Aminos
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Siracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

Season the chicken breasts with salt/pepper. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.

In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, siracha, olive oil, minced garlic, coriander, cumin , paprika, until smooth and well combined.

Pour the honey garlic mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker, coating each piece.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.

Once the chicken is done, carefully remove it from the slow cooker and set aside.

Pour the remaining sauce into a small saucepan, bring to a simmer, and allow it to cook down until it thickens slightly. Creating a yummy delicious glaze.

Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds  and serve! Voila!

Serve warm over rice, noodles, or with steamed vegetables. Enjoy!
